Lost Moneygram money order in mail!?

Husband mailed money orders off regular mail last Tuesday, bank has not received them, I’m starting to think they have been lost. We are in TX, bank is in GA, bank says mail is ‘processed’ through their main branch but they generally get it the same day. Would it really take this long? I have called the number and the m/o are outstanding but I don’t want to cancel them yet because it costs $12 a money order (wth!).. so.. anyone know the chances of them being lost or is the USPS just taking its sweet time?
